The Ocean Challenge 2023 is open for group applications 友善列印

The Ocean Challenge launched in 2019 is a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) competition that raises awareness of complex marine conservation issues and creates an opportunity for young people around the world to get involved in the global effort to protect the oceans.

The 2023 annual event is co-hosted by Taiwan’s Ocean Affairs Council (OAC) and the American Institute in Taiwan Kaohsiung Branch Office (AIT/K) as part of Taiwan’s larger effort to support the United Nations’ “Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development” program.

The competition is split into two stages: preliminary review and final presentation. All proposals will first be evaluated by a panel of judges, and qualified selected teams will be required to present ideas on their proposals in English. International participants will join virtually.

Each team should consist of 2 to 8 English proficient members including a coach. Interested participants aged twelve and up are welcome to send their applications and proposal to youthocean@oac.gov.tw by January 31, 2023.  For more information about eligibility, application, and awards, please visit https://www.csghs.tp.edu.tw/media/doc/zs287/2023%E6%B5%B7%E6%B4%8B%E5%8D%B1%E6%A9%9F%E8%A1%8C%E5%8B%95%E6%8F%90%E6%A1%88%E7%B0%A1%E7%AB%A0.pdf or contact    yiwen612@oac.gov.tw.
