On July 14, the Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Chicago hosted a pre-departure orientation for recipients of the Taiwan Scholarship and the Huayu Enrichment Scholarship, alongside a Taiwan Alumni Gathering.
Jennifer Chu, Director of the Education Division, congratulated the 2025 scholarship recipients and welcomed former recipients who attended the event. The orientation included detailed information about the scholarships, the visa application process, and Taiwan’s Global Talent Recruitment Program. Alumni shared their firsthand experiences in Taiwan, discussing Mandarin language learning, cultural adjustment, and daily life—valuable insights to help the 2025 recipients better integrate into Taiwanese society.
The event was a great success. Attendees exchanged contact information and expressed their hope to reconnect in Taiwan. The alumni appreciated the opportunity to reflect on and share their experiences, describing the event as a heartwarming reminder of their time in Taiwan.
