            2025 Taiwan Fellowship opens for applications, due June 30, 2024


The Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the U.S. has announced that the 2025 Taiwan Fellowship is currently accepting applications, due June 30, 2024.

The fellowship was established by Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to encourage experts and scholars who are interested in topics related to Taiwan, cross-strait relations, the Asia-Pacific region, and sinology to conduct advanced research at universities or academic institutions in Taiwan.

This office will accept applications from those whose universities or affiliated institutions are based in the states of Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia. We welcome research topics related to Taiwan’s domestic and foreign policy issues, including regional security, global supply chain resilience, anti-disinformation, and tech diplomacy. Shortlisted candidates will be notified in November 2024.

Apply through the following steps:

Step 1 - Online: Applicants should first submit an online application at https://taiwanfellowship.ncl.edu.tw

Step 2 - Mail-in:

   1. Application Form (please print the completed online application form)
   2. Resume (including a publication list)
   3. Research proposal (three pages in principle using a standard research format)
   4. Two letters of recommendation, or one letter of recommendation and one letter of consent from the highest administrator of the applicant’s affiliated institute.

All mail-in documents should be postmarked by July 1, 2024, and sent to the following address:
