The 2024 Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language Computerized Adaptive Test (TOCFL CAT) for the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia (DMV) area will be held at George Mason University on November 2nd. Examinees who pass the test will receive a Chinese Proficiency Certificate as a credential for the following:
• Applying for the Seal of Biliteracy from the Maryland State Department of Education and the Virginia Department of Education.
• Becoming eligible for the “Taiwan Scholarship” and “Ministry of Education Huayu Enrichment Scholarship” sponsored by Taiwan’s government for studying in Taiwan.
• Qualifying for admission to academic programs at colleges or universities in Taiwan.
• Serving as verification of Chinese language proficiency for employers.
• Providing an incentive to those who are interested in learning Chinese.
This TOCFL offers the following options for tests:
Listening & Reading with a test fee of $45
Speaking & Writing with a test fee of $90
Both Listening & Reading and Speaking & Writing with a test fee of $135
