New Jersey Lawrence High School Principal Meets with Taiwanese Students after a Fruitful Educational Journey in Taiwan 友善列印


Lawrence High School's esteemed Principal, Dr. David Adams, spearheaded a delegation of education professionals on a transformative exploration of Taiwan's educational landscape. Invited by the education division of TECO-NY, Dr. Adams joined the "2023 US Delegation Education Visiting Group" from November 5th to November 11th, 2023.


The 2023 US Delegation Education Visiting Group's journey began in Taoyuan City on

November 5th, featuring a cultural immersion in the traditional art of DIY Pineapple cake, a

renowned Taiwanese snack. The following day, they observed STEAM classes at Taoyuan

Municipal Wu-Ling Senior High School and explored the International Baccalaureate Diploma

Program at Taoyuan Municipal Dayuan International Senior High School, concluding with a

gracious Welcome Dinner hosted by the Ministry of Education. Subsequently, the US Delegation visits to Gien Shih Elementary School in Hsinchu City and educational sessions in Kaohsiung City highlighted innovative pedagogy and cultural insights. The visit wrapped up in Taipei City on November 10th, focusing on educational exchanges and exploration at the National Taiwan Normal University's Mandarin Training Center, culminating in a heartfelt Farewell Dinner hosted by the Ministry of Education. Dr. David Adams lauded the diverse educational insights gained, emphasizing their significant value for Lawrence High School's community and reinforcing the commitment to global educational collaboration.


After his educational trip to Taiwan, Dr. David Adams joined the virtual meeting to greet the Taiwanese students on Wednesday, Dec 13 th , 2023. The Chinese teacher of Lawrence High School, Ms. Tsun-Ju Lin arranged an intercultural virtual exchange with students from FuHe High School in Taiwan. LHS AP Chinese students engaged in a presentation on holiday shopping, sharing insights into American customs during the festive season. The exchange was reciprocal, as Fuhe students presented on their school experiences, providing a glimpse into Taiwanese education and culture. This enriching exchange not only fostered language learning but also deepened understanding between the two groups. Excitement lingers for the prospect of more Zoom meetings in the future, creating ongoing connections between these diverse student communities. 


Lawrence High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school in Lawrence

Township, Mercer County, in the state of New Jersey, serving students in ninth through twelfth grades as the lone secondary school of the Lawrence Township Public Schools. As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,166 students and 99.2 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.8:1.
