On the occasion of the 2023 Taiwan Scholarship Awards Ceremony on 28 July 2023, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines congratulates the 70 outstanding Filipino students who received scholarships to study in Taiwan. Among them, 45 students will study Mandarin through the Huayu Enrichment Scholarship, 18 students will be awarded with the Taiwan Ministry of Education (MOE) scholarship, and 7 students will receive the International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF) scholarship. During his speech, Representative Wallace Minn-Gan Chow expressed his heartfelt congratulations to all Filipino scholars for their achievements and looked forward to the heights they would achieve during their stay in Taiwan. Chairman and Resident Representative Silvestre H. Bello III of the Manila Economic & Cultural Office also encouraged Filipino scholars to serve as an enduring bond of friendship between the two peoples of Taiwan and the Philippines. The Taiwan Scholarship Programs are in line with Taiwan’s “New Southbound Policy”, which aims to cultivate Filipino talents into future professionals and leaders who will help contribute to the development of the Philippines.
