The Taiwan Ministry of Education (MOE) Scholarship supports outstanding international students in pursuing undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral degrees at accredited universities in Taiwan. It provides financial assistance for tuition, living expenses, and other academic costs, helping students focus on their studies while experiencing Taiwan’s high-quality education and vibrant culture.
Tuition and Miscellaneous Expenses
The MOE Scholarship will cover up to NT$40,000 per semester for tuition and miscellaneous academic expenses.
If the actual tuition and miscellaneous fees exceed NT$40,000, the student is responsible for paying the difference directly to the university or college.
Note: “Miscellaneous expenses” do not include:
Administration fees
Thesis supervision fees
Insurance premiums
Accommodation
Internet access
These items are the responsibility of the scholarship recipient.
Monthly Stipend
In addition to tuition coverage, the scholarship provides a monthly stipend to support living expenses:
Undergraduate students: NT$15,000 per month
Master’s and PhD students: NT$20,000 per month
Scholarship Duration
Undergraduate programs: up to 4 years
Master’s programs: up to 2 years
Doctoral programs: up to 4 years
Maximum total scholarship period per individual: 5 years
Application Period: February 1 to April 30 every year.
