2024 Taipei City Chinese Language Scholarship Application Announcement

The Taipei City Scholarship for Foreign Learners of Chinese was established by the Taipei City Government to promote city-to-city diplomacy, foster internationalization in Taipei City, and incentivize individuals of foreign nationalities to study Chinese in Taipei under the
principles of equality and reciprocity. Ten (10) scholarships are awarded each year. Applicants must be citizens of Taipei City’s sister cities, partner cities, and friendly cities who wish to study Chinese and who have not received any other scholarships in Taiwan.
Each scholarship recipient will receive a monthly allowance of NT$ 25,000 for 6 consecutive months during the award period from September 2024 to February 2025 and must comply with the Directions Governing Taipei City’s Scholarships for Foreign Learners of Chinese. Additionally, recipients are required to participate in 24 hours of cultural exchange activities held at Taipei schools and arranged by the Taipei City Department of Education.
Applicants must submit their completed application forms, a recommendation letter from their city mayor, and other relevant documents to the Taipei City Department of Education by Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

2. Submission of digital documents: Email the Planning Division, Department of Education, Taipei City Government at
bn2201@gov.taipei. Please submit both PDF and ODT (editable) versions of your documents.
