MOE Taiwan Scholarship

All applicants who meet the eligibility criteria stated in Article V are welcome to submit a

Taiwan scholarship application. Please mail all application documents to our office at the address

listed below in Article XII. A complete application must include all of the following documents:

a. Completed Taiwan Scholarship Online Application Form downloadable from

https://taiwanscholarship.moe.gov.tw/Apply

b. Colored copy of Philippine passport

c. Copy of the diploma and transcript of records from the applicant’s highest degree

attained.


A copy of the official diploma and transcript of records authenticated by the applicant’s

university, CHED, DFA and TECO (respectively) may eventually be requested by TECO

Education Division.

d. Proof of application for entrance to a university in Taiwan (example: notice/email from

the university acknowledging receipt of application)

e. Copy of a language proficiency certificate:

1. For applications to undertake an academic program not completely taught in English:

Applicants are required to submit a copy of their score report or certificate from the Test of

Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL), achieving a score of Level 3 or higher. No other test of

Chinese language proficiency will be accepted.


(If the applicant cannot submit test results prior to enrollment, he/she must take the TOCFL

exam within their first semester of study in Taiwan and submit the test results to their university,

achieving a score of Level 3 or higher. All testing fees are the responsibility of the student.)


2. For applications to undertake an academic program taught entirely in English:

Applicants are not required to submit test scores from the Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language

(TOCFL). They may submit an “English as Medium of Instruction” certificate from the

university that corresponds to their highest degree attained.


f. Two (2) letters of recommendation from university officials, professors and supervisors

g. Study Plan

h. Essay following these guide questions:

1. Objective/s in taking the Taiwan Scholarship

2. Possible Impact of taking a Taiwan Scholarship into your future career path

3. Possible Contribution/s to the enhancement of the bilateral relations between Taiwan and

the Philippines
