教育部華語文獎學金
This scholarship is offered to foreign students interested in studying Chinese in Taiwan, and is available for 3, 6, 9, or 12 months. The 2024 scholarship covers the study period from September 2024 to August 2025, with the exception of the 2-month summer period, which is between June 2024 to August 2024. Recipients of this scholarship will be given a stipend totaling NT$25,000 per month for study at a university-affiliated language center in Taiwan.

The following documents are required before the application can be processed:
- Completed application form
- Official transcripts for all degree programs attained
- Copy of diploma received from the highest education institute attended
- Study plan (Any supporting information, including resume, study motivation, academic goal, etc.)
- Two recommendation letters
- Passport (photo-page) copy
- Proof of application to a selected language center
(Applicants must apply directly to the language centers for admission.) - Term of Agreement
The application period starts on February 1, 2024.
Applicants for 2-month summer term must submit above documents that reach our office no later than March 15, 2024.
For all other applicants, the documents must be received by our office no later than March 31, 2024. Our office only accepts applications from U.S. citizens whose permanent addresses are in IA, IL, IN, MI, MN, NE, OH, WI, ND and SD.
The successful applicants will be announced as the scholarship candidates by the start of June. In order to confirm the awards, the candidates are required to submit proof of school admission they intend to study before the date requested in the announcement.
