Taiwan Reopens Borders to More International Students 友善列印

The Ministry of Education (MOE) announced on July 16 2022 that, effective immediately, Taiwan reopens its borders to international students who come to study Mandarin Chinese for two months or longer with self-supporting status.

In addition, foreign exchange students who seek to study in Taiwan under formal educational cooperation programs between their home institutions and universities in Taiwan will be able to enter Taiwan, effective from August 1, 2022. However, exchange students from Hong Kong and Macau are not yet allowed to take advantage of the new measure, according to MOE.

All the incoming students should now follow the same “3 + 4 rule” as others arriving in Taiwan, which means to quarantine at a hotel dedicated exclusively for quarantine or a university dormitory approved by the local health department for 3 days, plus 4 days of self-health monitoring.
