Tunghai University's Chinese Language Center is organizing a unique summer camp during the 2023 summer vacation. Using children's picture books as the foundation, the camp combines the story of the pangolin with themes of ecological sustainability and community regeneration. Children will have the opportunity to learn Mandarin and explore local culture while enjoying the beautiful campus.
With a history of over 50 years, the Chinese Language Center at Tunghai University emphasizes the interactive learning of language and life experiences, encouraging students to apply what they have learned to real-life situations. Thus, the camp offers language classes based on the students' abilities and various activities that allow them to engage with the local community and nature. They will discover the secrets of the natural ecosystem on campus and along Donda Creek, participate in outdoor adventures like tree climbing and beekeeping, and even create homemade treats. Additionally, a field trip to the pangolin's habitat in Nantun District, Taichung City is planned to deepen their cultural understanding.
